What are the benefits of the HandiChem® system?

  • HandiPak® solids are easier to ship and handle
    • Operators only handle a solid block or 1-gallon bottle versus a heavy drum
    • Cases can be easily transported through office space
    • Easier to store
    • Allows effective water treatment for hard-to-reach places
    • Increased floor space
  • HandiChem System reduces hazards and risks
    • With an innovative, proprietary manufacturing process, every 300 lb drum of liquid cooling tower or closed loop corrosion/scale inhibitor is replaced by a HandiPak® solid equivalent and eliminates the need to manufacture, and transport
    • Reduces splash and spill concerns versus traditional liquid chemicals.
    • Reduces risk of workplace injuries associated with heavy drum handling
  • The HandiFeed Dissolving Feeders are non-electric saving the customer money on electricity
  • HandiPak® solid concentrates are a more environmentally responsible water treatment solution than traditional liquid chemicals.

How do you dispose of the empty HandiPak bottles?

The empty HandiPak bottles are simply rinsed and tossed into the recycling bin.

How much liquid product is in a case of HandiPak solid chemical or block equivalent to?

  • A case of four one-gallon plastic bottles (44 lbs) is equivalent to one 30 gallon drum (300 lbs)
  • A case of four solid blocks (44 lbs) is equivalent to one 30 gallon drum (300 lbs)
  • Four cases of HandiPak® solid concentrates take up the same space as one 30 gallon drum

What is the technology behind the HandiChem system?

  • Use the same raw materials found in the best liquid water treatment products
  • Blends are a combination of raw materials, in liquid and solid forms, to produce a slurry that is further cured into a paste like product
  • The finish product is the only change that is different from the liquid formulation

What equipment is needed to feed HandiChem solid chemicals?

A HandiFeed® Dissolving Feeder is needed to dissolve the product onsite. Standard controllers and chemical feed pumps are utilized to administer the product to the system.

Are there any special storage considerations for HandiPak solids?

We recommend solid concentrates are stored in a cool, dry area. Temperature should be between 50-86°F. Above 86°F, products may soften, but can still be used as the chemical composition will not change.

Why is the HandiChem system "greener" than tranditional liquid treatment?

  • Solids significantly lower the level of hazardous chemicals used. Because of their innovative, proprietary manufacturing process, every 30 gallons of liquid cooling tower or closed loop corrosion/scale inhibitor replaced by a HandiPak® solid equivalent eliminates the need to manufacture, and transport.
  • Solids reduce packaging requirements and landfill waste while eliminating drum handling and disposal concerns. A case of four one-gallon recyclable plastic containers replaces a 30 gallon drum of traditional liquid.
  • Less fuel and lower greenhouse gas emissions are associated with delivering a solid product to the customer. HandiPak solids typically weigh less than 20% of equivalent liquids.
  • The HandiChem System makes effective water treatment practical for smaller systems and out of the way places previously neglected. This can significantly reduce energy use and greenhouse gases.
