Impacts of Scale Deposits
As shown in Table 1, even minor waterside deposits in building heating and cooling systems can have significant impacts upon energy use, costs, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The carbon dioxide produced when fossil fuels are burned to generate energy is a major source of GHG emissions. Consequently, reducing energy use can reduce a building’s carbon footprint.
