Alternating Water Softeners Alternating Water Softeners are dual tank systems with electronically controlled regeneration based on the volume of water passed through the resin bed. One tank is in service while the other is in standby or regeneration. Water volume between regenerations is user-programmable based on water hardness and the quantity of resin in the tank. Softeners with tank sizes of 10 to 30 inches in diameter have the control valve mounted at the top of the tank. Softeners with tank sizes of 36 to 48 inches in diameter have the control valves mounted on the side of the tank.
Demand Flow Water Softeners Demand Flow Water Softeners always consist of two or more resin tanks in a parallel configuration that are brought online based on flow rate demand from the process requiring soft water. As demand for soft water increases, available resin tanks are brought online to accommodate the load. As demand decreases, idle tanks are taken offline to prevent low-flow channeling through the unneeded resin tanks. Flow is monitored by a water meter on each tank and control valves are fitted with electronic timers. Softeners with tank sizes of 12 to 30 inches in diameter have the control valve mounted at the top of the tank. Softeners with tank sizes of 36 to 48 inches in diameter have the control valves mounted on the side of the tank.
Time Clock Water Softeners Time Clock Water Softeners are regenerated based on time only. These softeners offer selectable regeneration date and time. The softener timer may be electronic or mechanical based on the options selected. Single or dual tank configurations are available. A dual tank system allows for soft water to be supplied to the process while one tank is in regeneration. These softeners are offered in resin tank sizes ranging from 10 to 24 inches in diameter.
Single Meter-Initiated Water Softeners Single Meter-Initiated Water Softeners consist of a single resin tank with top-mounted multi-port Fleck valves, electronic timers, and water meters. Regeneration is initiated based on the volume of water flowing through the resin bed. Water volume between regenerations is user-programmable based on the water hardness and quantity of resin in the tank. These softeners are offered in resin tank sizes ranging from 10 to 24 inches in diameter.
